Operating
-
Drag caused by the turbine is minimal, a 0.1 of a knot at most and zero at hull speed. The benefit of the power gain far outweighs the penalty of drag.
-
The turbine is designed to be towed behind the boat and work best at typical sailing speeds. Tidal current speed is often much less so power generated would be very little and not what the manufacture intended the unit to be used for.
-
With the optional long rail kits, the turbine can be lifted out the water with slowing or stopping the boat. This is particularly convenient if the turbine gets fouled by weed.
-
The Remoran has been engineered to make it quiet. You may hear just a reassuring muted hum!
-
The Remoran app is free and connects to your turbine via Bluetooth. You can monitor all the power produced in real time and total power generated.
Fault Finding
-
The turbine propeller may be fouled and has stopped rotating. Your batteries maybe fully charged and the turbine is in idle or the DC fuse may have blown.
Maintenance
-
A regular wash down in fresh water and replace the anode if required is all you will need to do.
