For use with Studer Xtender systems.
This Battery Status Processor gathers the same information as our other battery monitors but it can only be used in conjunction with a Studer Xtender. When connected to a Studer Xtender inverter charger system, the data from this processor will be displayed on the RCC remote panel. The information is delivered using the Studer CAN-bus communication protocol and with it, the Studer Xtender can change its actions or outputs as a result of battery charge status.
The 500 version has the capability to monitor current flow up to 500A.
The Studer Xtender and associated family of products communicate with each other using a CAN-bus protocol. This allows the various components of the system to talk to each other and influence the way each other work.
The Battery Status Processor collects all of the battery charge state information that a full functional battery monitor collects and analyses such as battery voltage, current flow, Amphours, percentage state of charge and hours to run at present discharge rate. This information will be display on the RCC panel when the BSP is added to the system.
The main benefit for complex control systems is that now, the monitor function can give information to the inverter charger which will change its behaviour (subject to the user making appropriate parameter settings changes). This means that state of charge of a battery bank (a more useful battery parameter) can control various functions which use battery energy, rather than battery voltage alone.
