This optional kit features the new Halyard gas/water separator and is highly recommended for quiet operation. Fitted in the exhaust line after the waterlock and muffler, it allows the cooling water in the exhaust gas to drain down and out of a through-hull fitting below the waterline, before the exhaust exits the side of the boat. This eliminates the sound of the ejected cooling water splashing onto the outside water surface and has a secondary effect of being an additional silencer (it also eliminates complaints from your neighbours when running your generator in a quiet anchorage!).
