The massive reduction in weight from a standard yacht steeringwheel results in much lower rotational inertia
Reducing the rotational inertia makes the wheel lighter and therefore more responsive for the helm
For yachts with permanently engaged wheels, there is a considerably lower power drain on the auto-pilot system
Compared with lightweight fabricated wheels (made from aluminium) which are easily bent, these carbon fibre yahct wheels are incredibly strong
